Reading Lists - Parallel Narratives

Recently I’ve noticed a trend in women’s fiction toward “parallel narratives.” These are novels that contain two different storylines, usually separated by time and even place, but that somehow relate to each other. Some involve different generations of the same family. Some involve different residents of the same house. Some have a more subtle connection. Whatever the case, the parallel narratives add a wonderful complexity to each character’s story. I, for one, hope this trend continues.
