Staff Selections - Boo, Circulation

What is your favorite genre? Mystery, classics, romance, and history—fiction and non-fiction.

Who are your favorite authors? Mary Higgins Clark, Nancy Thayer, Claire Cook, and James Patterson.


What are you reading now? Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert; Ladies of the Lake by Haywood Smith; and The Beast in the Garden by David Baron.

What have you read recently? Beachcombers by Nancy Thayer, The Outer Banks House by Diann Ducharme, Where Are You Now? by Mary Higgins Clark, There’s Something About St. Tropez by Elizabeth Adler, Life’s a Beach by Claire Cook, and Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons by Lorna Landvik.

What is your favorite classic? I really enjoy the classics—I can’t pick just one! The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving, Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell, Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, The Adventures of Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens, The Call of the Wild by Jack London, Brer Rabbit and the Tar Baby: the Stories of Uncle Remus by Joel Chandler Harris. I read folktales and Mother Goose. I can’t leave out my favorite character…...Boo, of course, from To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee.

What is your all time favorite book/series? Nancy Drew series by Carolyn Keene, Hardy Boys series by Franklin W. Dixon, Uncle Wiggily and his Woodland Friends by Howard R. Garis, Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends series by W. Awdry, Arthur series by Marc Brown, Berenstain Bears series by Stan & Jan Berenstain, Diary of a Wimpy Kid series by Jeff Kinney, Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling, Lord of the Rings trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien, and Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series by Ann Brashares.

What are your favorite recommendations? Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank, Schindler’s List by Thomas Keneally, Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood by Rebecca Wells, and anything about the history of Skyline Drive and Shenandoah National Park. I also recommend these authors:
Nora Roberts, Danielle Steele, Emilie Richards, Nicholas Sparks, Mitch Albom, Eric Carle, Richard Scarry, and David Pilkey.

I have sweet memories of being read to as a child, later reading to my own children.Whatever one chooses to read, reading keeps the mind active! I do enjoy being around all these books! Just wish I could read more!
